Chief People Officer

Level Access, Inc. helps companies design and enhance their digital systems - including websites, web applications, software, hardware, and services - so they are usable by people with disabilities. Level Access's market - digital accessibility solutions - is growing rapidly, and we are looking for a Chief People Officer (CPO) that can help us capture this growth and expand our market leadership position. As we scale the company and integrate additional firms, we need an experienced leader to serve as a key member of the Executive Team and be a strategic HR business partner, providing counsel, developing roadmaps, and executing on key people-related initiatives. The role will focus on ensuring the Level Access has the systems, tools, controls, and operational rhythms to (i) support high growth and (ii) increase employee engagement. This position will include responsibility for ensuring that day-to-day tactical operations are running smoothly while long-term strategic goals are being tracked and met.

The right candidate will have extensive experience in developing and directing human resources operations in enterprise targeted, business-to-business (B2B) technology solution providers. The ideal candidate will have a track record of partnering with specific organization units and helping them develop the people plans to hit their long-term business goals.


  • Provide insightful and trusted counsel to the CEO, management team, and Board to constantly refine the organization’s structure against the business plan
  • Develop and execute the HR strategy in support of the business plan and strategic direction of Level Access, specifically with acquisition planning, succession planning, talent management, change management, organizational structure, organizational and performance management, and compensation plans
  • Develop a strong employment brand to ensure Level Access is a high performing and “Best Places to Work” employer of choice.
  • Support the acquisition and integration of firms onto the company’s platform
  • Work with peer members of the management team to provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly key performance indicator (KPI) reporting for human resources. Support the publication of these KPIs on a monthly basis in a format suitable for distribution to Level Access’s Board of Directors.
  • Provide overall leadership and guidance to HR team members
  • Develop innovative solutions, and improve and implement processes, programs, and policies working in close collaboration with other departments and cross-functional teams
  • Understand internal or external business issues and recommend best practices
  • Provide formal and informal executive coaching and development in all areas of leadership
  • cultural creation; alignment and change management at the individual, team, and organizational level; performance management
  • Hire and effectively onboard a training and enablement manager to allow specialization of the training function

General Qualifications

  • Operations Experience - Portfolio demonstrating at least 10 years of operating experience in enterprise-targeted B2B technology solutions. The ideal candidate will have (i) experience in technology companies that have a mix of consulting and software solutions and (ii) a strong business acumen including a deep understanding of business operations and financial metrics.
  • HR Experience - Deep experience with key activities of human resources, compliance, recruiting, hiring, training, and onboarding.
  • HRIS Systems Experience - You should know Namely or other relevant HRIS systems like a pro. We are currently transitioning to a formal HRIS that allows us to automate all key HR functions.
  • High Growth Experience – Level Access is in a high growth phase and the number of people we need to hire, onboard, and get engaged is significant relative to our historic pace. You should have experience working in a high growth environment that requires specialized technical hires to be successful.
  • Organized and Disciplined – Level Access has a culture of disciplined execution over a long period of time. We seek to work with people that have this focus and can execute activities on their own, over a long period of time without a large amount of management oversight. An individual that will succeed in this environment should have a desire to grow in the system over several years and seek to build towards big goals over a long period of time. If your time horizon is six months, we are probably not a good match for you.
  • Small Environment Experience - Level Access is a small, growing company with teams in three offices across the country. Experience working in a small office environment is a desired component. As part of this role, there will also be a lot of coordination across the offices and time zones – flexibility is a must.


  • 10+ years of experience in human resources roles
  • 6+ years building and managing human resources teams
  • Demonstrated experience driving qualified hiring against an aggressive hiring plan
  • Ability to analyze and articulate the impact of specific investments on employee engagement, onboarding time, employee efficacy, and other relevant performance indicators
  • Experience developing frameworks for accountability and performance management at the executive level
  • Experience in developing incentive compensation plans for sales, marketing, and executive teams
  • Demonstrated experience at managing corporate culture into a company’s day-to-day operating rhythms
  • Experience with acquisitions and integrations of similar sized companies
  • Experience with design, implementation, and measurement of employee engagement strategies
  • Experience working with a private equity backed organization


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Human Resource Management or related field
  • SPHR Certification is a plus
